Hi, I’m Vanessa Lopez! Book lover. Mom of 5. Wife. Friend. And most importantly: Daughter of the one and only King of the Universe!

As founder of Arbor Academy, I am passionate about implementing innovative strategies to create a Christ-centered, hands-on education environment. I enjoy seeing students discover new concepts and gain confidence as they master new skills.

I’ve been educating children in one form or another for more than 20 years. I’ve taught children at church, at school, in homeschool co-ops, and in my own home, working with all different ages.

Once I had a Latin student who really disliked school, especially Latin. He was a brilliant kid who saw the world from a slightly different angle than most people do. At the end of the year, he gave me a card that said, “I really don’t like Latin, but you made it fun and manageable.”

I’ll never forget teaching that student or his classmates; they brought me great joy! Arbor Academy is a school where teachers who are passionate about mentoring students will thrive.
